Community Service & Events 2025-2026
The CMTHS Educators Rising Club has participated in many community service projects, partnerships and school events. The goal of our participation is three-fold: provide club members with leadership opportunitites in the field of education; grow our chapter; and give back to our local community. Teacher Appreciation Week
Date: May 4-8, 2026
Event Type: Community Outreach Event

Description: Educators Rising members will organize a daily teacher appreciation during the National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8. Each day, EdRising students will treat CMTHS teachers to small gestures of gratitude, including things like poems, flowers, and snacks.
The Future of PA Educators: Advocacy Day
Date: April 15, 2026
Event Type: Community Outreach Event
CMTHS EdRising Members Participating: 9
Description: Educators Rising members will travel to Harrisburg to participate in this important advocacy day. The focus will be talking to legislators about the recruitment, preparation, and retention of a diverse educator workforce in Pennsylvania.
Teach Love, Spread Love

Event Type: Community Event; Fundraiser
CMTHS EdRising Members Participating:18
Description: Educators Rising members organized a community event that celebrated love and teaching. This event also raised funds for students to attend Nationals in Oregon this year. EdRising students (and the school mascot) took over the hallways and classrooms to recite love poems, sing songs, deliver goodie bags and spread good cheer during the snow storms of February.

Restorative Practices Training: December 16, 2025

Description: Educators Rising member, Ella Fergus, led CMTHS Ambassadors in a one-day training for Restorative Practices. This training supported the development of positive culture building at CMTHS.
CMTHS SEA/Educators Rising Alumni Event

Description: Each year, Educators Rising hosts an alumni event at CMTHS. Alumni share their college experiences with current students and offer invaluable advice about navigating college life as an Education major and future teacher.
CMTHS Open Houses: Explore & Discover Events
Dates: November 20, 2025 & April 22, 2025
Event Type: Leadership/Development/ Community Service & Outreach Event benefitting school & local community
CMTHS EdRising Members Participating: 4-6
Description: CMTHS Educators Rising Club members volunteer at our Open House events, which are open to the community. These quarterly events offer students opportunities to share the work of the club, recruit new members, and perhaps most importantly, educate the community about the serious teacher shortage.
